Re: Points and lines coming from different data

The only way to make the legend different to the real curve -- is creating a 'fake' curve without points (from an empty table) and setting the appropriate style to this curve and removing the main legend. Yes, we plan to add 'Apply Palette' menu item to the color selection buttons in case multiple o...

Hello, I can suggest using tho axis boxes with the same position and scale and put all data curves on the first axis box and all fit curves on the second one. Hello,
This is a bug introduced in the last MagicPlot version, it will be fixed in the upcoming update. You can drag and drop table(s) from the three to the list on the right. Dragging tables also works from the main project tree to the figure itself, the column selection dialog will be openen.

Hello,
Multi curves (and axes boxes) are allowed on Figures only. Fit Plots always show only one curve plotted from a table to keep it simple.

Such syntax with two >/< operators with the same operand is not supported, but the parced does not show an error (so we need to fix that and show an error of cource):

Code: Select all

xs<x<xt (not supported)
The correct way is using AND operator:

Re: Broken Best View feature

Hello,

Yes, we can partially confirm the issue. Your Y data is constant (all Y values are equal) so the program cannot estimate the Y range correctly. Of course, the X range must be changed independently and some reasonable Y range (like +/-10% must be set). We'll fix it, thank you for reporting.

Yes, you are right, the zero filling of the signal before Fourier transform can increase the resolution of the spectrum. But this feature is not implemented in MagicPlot yet, as the windows functions for FFT. You can fill your column with zeroes in the data table using formula dialog.

Re: R squared

The low R^2 only says that your data is "not likely a straight line": the linear formula does not predict the "haotic" variance of the points. If you change the scale, you can see it as the algorithm sees it (I placed some points manually, that's not exactly your points).

Re: How does the sorting work?

Yes, text operations are not supported. Moreover, the column can be either numeric or textual as a whole (in this case the background is changed).

The idea with '1111111' seems OK. I can only add that you can return NaN (it's a constant) in formulas to set an empty cell.

Re: How does the sorting work?

We are editing simultaneously :)

There is another idea how to deal with it. You can add a column C with temporary index:

Code: Select all

A B C
0.12 1 1
0.21 1 2
0.13 2 1
0.23 2 2
0.11 3 1
0.22 3 2
and then sort the entire table by 'C, then B'. It can be faster to implement, maybe.

Re: How does the sorting work?

If your order data is regular as in the example, you can automate sorting using column formulas:

Code: Select all

col(C) = cell(A, 2*((i-1)%3 + 1) - 1 + floor((i-1)/3))
col(D) = cell(B, 2*((i-1)%3 + 1) - 1 + floor((i-1)/3))
Please check.
